Your email funnel doesn’t have to be a maze.
Here’s how to keep track of what’s going on the back end without ever having to worry about flow overlap.
First of all, you’ll need some kind of mind mapping app.
I personally use Miro.
Other alternatives are LucidChart, XMind, MindMeister.
1. MAP OUT ALL TRIGGERS/EVENTS
You’ve probably seen this ‘funnel’ a million times but it doesn’t have to be like this all the time.
How do you then identify all the triggers then and segment the customers?
Good question.
Here’s your in-depth answer:
2. LIST OUT ALL THE FLOWS
Most of your flows will be post-purchase. (Well, email is a retention channel)
List them all out.
Connect it to the triggers, add conditional splits and tags.
I also like to use expanding cards in Miro and give a short description of what each flow does so the person I’m working with can also understand.
(yes, i did copy-paste those from a course :)
3. ADD POINTERS WITHIN EACH FLOW
This is great if you're working with a copywriter or a smaller team.
You can give out pointers on how to structure copy and what each email should be all about.
